Release notes - v0.73 and v0.74

Date of Release: November 16, 2018

📘

Requirements

  1. Latest version of Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge
  2. Instabot Account
  3. Update/Add Instabot JavaScript to your website

We did two smaller releases over the last 3 weeks, so the below updates include details about the changes from both of those.

Enhancements

The below enhancements are new functionality items in this version.

1. Bot Office Hours

You can now set up bots to run on certain days of the week and time of the day. This is a great use case for having two similar support bots on your site. One that creates Live Chat connections with your support team during the working hours, then a separate bot that collects additional information for follow up when there are no agents available.

Create these active hours by editing the "Online Hours" in the When section of your bot's Triggers.

2. Email Export of User and Conversation Data

We have updated the workflow for downloading your user and conversation data. If you view the users list or conversation sessions page, you will see an export button in the top right corner.

Once selected, you will enter the email where to receive these reports and we will generate them and send as soon as they are prepared.

3. We collect any UTM parameters you are using as User Properties

If you are using UTM parameters to track traffic to your site, we will automatically store these parameters to the User's profile as a new property.

Use this to create segments of your users based on how they came to your site and launch bots specific to them the next time they return.

4. Bot Builder - The preview icon has been changed

We got feedback that the "preview" icon was difficult to find in order for users to test their bot while building it. So we have simply changed this to a Preview button in order to reduce confusion and get you confident in your bot before you publish to your site.

Fixed Issues

The below issues are fixed items related to known issues in previous versions.

  1. Multiple Choice options could not be re-ordered.
  2. Some user property types were missing from the Zapier List.
  3. Live Chat having disruptions when the end user is using Safari or Chrome browser on their mobile device.

Functionality no longer supported

  1. Rich Media Cards as their own "Node" type are no longer. We have merged this functionality into the Multiple Choice options. Don't worry - the functionality is the same, we have just reduced some confusion between the two.
